Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Analysis and Structuring: Analyze financial statements, cash flows, and credit reports to assess risks and opportunities. Structure financial products such as asset-backed securities (ABS), mortgage-backed securities (MBS), collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), and other structured finance instruments.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support the analysis and structuring of deals. Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.
- Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, including assessing the quality of underlying assets, collateral, and counterparties.
- Deal Execution: Assist in the execution of transactions, including preparing and reviewing term sheets, legal documents, and offering memoranda. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction processes.
- Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices. Provide insights and recommendations based on market research and analysis.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage existing structured finance portfolios. Track performance, identify risks, and recommend strategies for optimizing portfolio returns.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including originations, legal, compliance, and risk management to support the structured finance process.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is a plus.
- Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in structured finance, investment banking, corporate finance, or related fields.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and valuation techniques.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and perform detailed analysis.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling software. Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
