Groundskeeper

Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the grounds. Responsibilities may include landscape design projects to improve guest appeal of Hotel property.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Maintain irrigation systems, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring. Plan and cultivate lawns and gardens.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs and hedges using shears, pruners and chain saws.
• Rake, mulch and compost leaves.
• Trim and pick flowers and clean flower beds.
• Water lawns, trees and plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses or watering cans.
• Build forms and mix and pour cement to form garden borders.
• Install drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences and planters.
• Maintain and repair tools, equipment and structures such as fences and benches using power tools.
• Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways and parking lots.
• Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption to prevent waste.
• Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters and pruning saws.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saw, hedge and brush trimmers and axes.
• Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members
• Performs other duties as assigned
