Job Description
The Executive Director of Organizational Development will direct / manage / supervise the efforts that focus on improving the organization's capability through the alignment of strategy, structure, people, rewards, metrics, and management processes. Oversee the application of tools, methods, frameworks, technologies, and processes to make the organization and its people more productive, innovative, and profitable. Define and oversee the ongoing, systematic process of implementing positive and effective organizational changes. Assess and evaluate organizational need for programs and initiatives such as team building and group process approaches, coaching, organizational transformation, culture change, leadership development, restructuring, employee engagement, performance management, and / or succession planning. Lead the design, development and implementation of programs, policies and strategies tailored to meet goals. Oversee the leadership development planning process for key employees. Uphold accountability for continuous improvement and ensure that organizational development initiatives align with business strategy and objectives. Assists executives and / or senior directors in defining organizational goals and strategic plans. Extensive business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional areas.
Essential Functions
- Directs the leadership development and organizational development strategies by providing guidance in instituting tactics to develop talent that supports human capital needs for today and the future.
- Serves as the leader, facilitator, and implementer of professional development processes in collaboration with key stakeholders to promote The Baptist Way culture aligned with the system's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
- Serves as a strategic partner and coach to leaders, helping them navigate business challenges and improve leadership effectiveness.
- Leads the orientation of team members providing a cultural immersion experience that includes the standards of behavior.
- Develops and delivers engaging and interactive training opportunities using sound, metric-driven approaches that are based upon adult learning principles by partnering with key subject matter experts.
- Develops working relationships at all levels, maintains an understanding of the business, and provides coaching with identified leaders to achieve high performance.
- Partners with leaders to integrate and implement solutions for development of talent in their areas.
- Drives change management to support the organization's transformation.
- Creates career pathways and succession planning service for those seeking career mobility opportunities.
- Attains all goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization's overall mission.
- Is responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources.
- Manages team members, which includes orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to team members, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
- Responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards. Maintains proper fiscal management.
- Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to team members, including the executive level.
