Dean of Students / Athletic Director
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of a High School Principal, to assist the principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of a High School in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law.
- To provide leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development.
- To serve as Principal in the absence of the principal.
Provides effective educational leadership to oversee all aspects of the Bayless High School athletic program for providing the best possible educational experience for students.

Qualifications:
- Current valid teaching certification required
- Master’s Degree in School Administration or willingness to complete
- Three (3) years of experience in classroom teaching and/or administrative, supervisory experience.
- Three (3) years coaching experience at the High School level.
- Successful supervision of activities and/or activity coordination required.
Responsibilities:
- Administers the school athletic program, includes: scheduling all contests, securing game officials and other required personnel, arranging for concessions, coordinating the use of district facilities for athletic events, and performing all other activities necessary to support the program.
- Administers school discipline and representative at school hearings as necessary.
- Use the MSHSAA website and Arbiter Platform to schedule and confirm activities/events including officials, facilities, and opponents.
- Keep all school personnel current with dates, times and any changes that may occur.
- Assist the principal with Commencement and Senior Awards Banquet.
- Assist with the approval process for scheduled extracurricular activities.
- Coordinate the practice schedule for athletic facilities.
- Coordinate transportation for athletic trips.
- Make coaching recommendations to the high school principal.
- Evaluate and supervise coaching performance.
- Arrange for uniformed security when appropriate.
- Supervision of athletic and co-curricular activities in cooperation with other administrators.
- Develops and administers the annual budget for the athletic department.
- Deposit and account for all athletic gate receipts in accordance with district guidelines.
- Prepare appropriate requisitions for necessary equipment in all sports.
- Oversee the district’s compliance with rules and regulations of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA).
- Work with coaches, teachers and counselors to ensure student athletes maintain MSHSAA academic eligibility and safeguard their future National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and/or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) admittance requirements
- Supervise the facilities in preparation for activities/contests and ensure the venue remains a clean, orderly, environment when not in use.
- Monitor the athletic safety program.
- Create and maintain a handbook for coaches and directors of all high school programs including Bayless rules, regulations, and policies for students, coaches, directors, etc.
- Responsible for supervision at home athletic contests, dances and high school events.
- Oversees the monitoring of student-athlete discipline.
- Keep the principal informed of discipline matters, facility concerns, athletic/activities, teacher/coaches evaluation and any changes/concern and any actions, which happen at Bayless High School.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of all athletic department supplies, equipment and uniforms.
- Represents the school at various professional meetings concerned with student athletics.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Salary commensurate with experience
