Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Service Manager will oversee all aspects of the Service Department, ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service to both internal and external clients. This role is responsible for managing a dedicated team of service technicians, enhancing team performance through leadership and training, and fostering an environment of employee engagement and safety. The Service Manager will also drive the growth and profitability of the Service Department while maintaining operational efficiency.
Essential Duties:
- Lead and mentor Road Service and Shop technicians, guiding them toward professional development and achieving their individual goals.
- Address customer service requests with urgency and professionalism, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Manage the Service Department's workload, optimizing efficiency to meet utilization goals.
- Promote, quote, and sell Preventative Maintenance programs, contributing to service revenue growth.
- Create, approve, deliver, and close service quotes in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Service Coordinator to manage scheduling and invoicing processes.
- Review and approve all Warranty invoices before submission.
- Plan for seasonal fluctuations by coordinating the service marketing calendar.
- Develop and execute a technician training schedule, tracking progress and performance.
- Oversee the management of New and Used Equipment processes, ensuring smooth operations.
- Conduct performance reviews for direct reports, establishing developmental goals.
- Approve daily timecards, vacation requests, and other related administrative tasks.
- Ensure that technicians maintain company standards by keeping vehicles well-stocked and properly maintained.
- Provide technical support to customers by leveraging inside and outside resources as needed.
- Assist with collections when necessary and help resolve any outstanding service-related issues.
- Cultivate a positive work environment by ensuring all technicians represent the company in a professional manner.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
To be successful in this role, you may need to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders or equipment. Vision and hearing must be sufficient to identify equipment issues and ensure safety. The position involves exposure to loud noise, odors, dust, heat, cold, and vibration. You may have to tolerate temperature fluctuations and work in various weather conditions.
