Duties
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Forecast customer demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
- Collaborate with production and quality control to ensure alignment on material specifications and requirements.
- Be knowledgeable of MRO items and purchasing strategies thereof.
- Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions that may impact procurement decisions.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement management or a related field is essential.
- Steel-related industrial experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Education
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
