Responsibilities

BlueHalo is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead our Army Business Unit, reporting to the President and General Manager of Defense Systems Sector. This person will lead a large diverse group of Division and Program Managers with numerous programs primarily across an Army portfolio, but also in other key Service and Joint programs that have mission linkage.

 

This position will be responsible for maintaining and creating new customer and client relationships to increase business and revenue throughout the Defense Sector and company.  They will also need to be skilled at creating new and impactful business relationships with other industry partners for key opportunities.  This leader should be familiar with and help promote the business unit’s strategic growth and program execution in numerous communities, with a particular focus on Huntsville, Albuquerque, Ft. Sill, Northern Virginia, and other locations.  This person should have familiarity and experience working Congressional actions.

 

This person must be able to manage a large profit and loss business.  They will be responsible for helping create, drive, and participate in the Defense Sector and company strategic plan.  This includes establishing revenue targets, profit targets and developing strategic plans to ensure the company meets its annual operating goals.  They will also lead program execution and be a key decision maker for their Business Unit products and services portfolios.  This person will oversee scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of large organizational programs and their associated contracts.

 

This position will also be responsible to help direct and aid applicable business development, capture, and proposal team members towards keeping current business and winning new business. This role is also expected to expand the Defense Sector’s customer bases to include cross sector growth and achieving company growth goals, promoting customer satisfaction, and fostering strong customer strategic relationships.  

Qualifications

  • This position will be located in Huntsville, AL, and candidate must be present or willing to relocate.
  • Candidate will have a Bachelors’ degree (or equivalent additional experience).
  • Candidate will have substantial experience in leading and managing profit and loss organizations.
  • Candidate will have experience managing programs.
  • Candidate must have experience with understanding DoD contracting and acquisition processes.
  • Candidate will have in depth experience with Army programs, processes, and operations.
  • Candidate must have a proven positive leadership record.
  • Candidate must have an active security clearance; however, exceptional candidates with the ability to obtain the appropriate level of clearance will also be considered. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is essential.
  • Candidate should: 1) be extremely organized with strong multi-tasking and time-management skills, 2) have experience as part of a cohesive team and be able to deliver the highest quality service, 3) be able to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Desired but not required:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of Air and Missile Defense systems and concepts including Directed Energy, Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), virtual training, and associated operations, design, modeling and simulation, testing, instrumentation, and other key aspects of this area. 
  • Have knowledge and understanding of command-and-control platforms and associated systems and architectures. 
  • Have knowledge and understanding of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) capabilities.
  • Expertise in Microsoft programs that enable management and communications.
  • EVMS experience to include working with resource loaded Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
  • Experience in developing, shaping, and leading congressional actions in support U.S. Services’ needs.
  • Master’s Degree in any STEM or leadership/management field.
