Position:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer at our Longmont, CO location.
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the mechanical design of system components, and standard and custom machine design. This includes responsibility for the master layout and all aspects of the mechanical design, working with and coordinating other mechanical engineers on projects, controls, and software engineers to make sure the design meets performance, budget, and timeline requirements.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the mechanical design of systems from concept through acceptance testing.
- Responsible for master layout and all aspects of the mechanical design, working with and coordinating other mechanical engineers on the project, controls, and software engineers to make sure the design meets performance, budget, and timeline requirements.
- Works closely with the entire Mechanical Engineering department.
- Cooperate closely with all other departments (Controls, Software, Purchasing, Fabrication, Applications, and Service).
- Help generate technical concepts, layouts, technical calculations, and cost calculations.
- Makes customer site visits as necessary to help solve field issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or a related program and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment that involves robotic experience preferably in the packaging automation industry.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
- Demonstrated ability in machine design, preferred experience in the field of packaging/robotic machines required.
- Applicants must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact and work as a team with other mechanical engineers required.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering development process utilizing SolidWorks, ACAD, FEA, and related engineering software techniques required.
- High awareness of client satisfaction level and client needs is a must.
- The successful candidate will be a strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
