PRIMARY FUNCTION
To assist in the implementation of the organization’s annual resource development and
marketing plans including targeting foundations, corporations, civic groups and individual
donors within the community. Assist with annual fundraising events. Assist in the management
of donor relations including cultivation opportunities, engagement initiatives, and stewardship.
Assist in identifying, researching, cultivating, and soliciting donors and community partners,
ensuring meaningful engagement and stewardship. Assist in maintaining accurate donor
information, generate thank you letters, assist in the creation and implementation of donor
stewardship plan. Research and identify foundation and corporate funding opportunities, leading
in the preparation and submission of grant proposals. Assist in the implementation of the annual
communications plan including print and electronic materials as well as website and social media
content.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
· Assist in the implementation of the annual resource development plan to meet annual
organizational fundraising objectives including, but not limited to
o Donor Identification, Cultivation and Solicitation
o Major Gifts
o Stewardship (Individual and Events)
o Special Events
o Annual Appeals
o On-line Campaigns
· Assist in identifying and researching grant opportunities from private and corporate
foundations, as well as municipal, state, county, and federal agencies. Support the preparation

and submission of grant applications, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with funder
requirements.
· Assist in the establishment, maintenance and growth of Community Partnerships with
corporations to provide financial contributions, in-kind donations, increased event
participation and increased volunteer hours.
· Assist in grant management and reconciliation.
· Contribute to resource development and marketing reports for the Board of Directors and
Administration.
· Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan regarding activities
relating to resource development and marketing.
· Assist with administrative and operational systems to track fundraising income, compile
income status reports and variance reports.
· As assigned, recognize contributions with acknowledgment letters and special recognition
events.
· Ensure a productive working environment, providing staff support to Club management on
fundraising issues.
· Develop external marketing and communications.
· Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club management to exchange information, seek
and give assistance, consultation and direction. Maintain contact with financial staff and support
staff. Maintain verbal and written contact with volunteers and volunteer committees.
External: Maintain contact with community and corporate leaders, donors, business leaders and
elected officials to provide information regarding club activities and needs in an effort to secure
continued financial support of the organization.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
· A minimum of three years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar not-for profit
organization with an emphasis on resource development, fundraising, marketing, management,
budgeting, community and public relations.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to fundraising issues.
· Able to use and learn various forms of technology

duties of this job the employee is required to: sit regularly, use hands to finger, handle, and/or
feel; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally walk and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to
adjust focus. Employee may be required to drive for errands.
