The position is responsible for tenant contract management and monitoring, tenant relations and daily operations related to the airport's terminal tenants, which include, but are not limited to, Airlines, Service Providers and Catering companies and Licensees at the Fort-Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The Business Specialist - Airlines will report to the Airport Manager of Business for Airlines. The position is administrative in nature. Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsRequires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or public administration or closely related field.Requires two (2) years' experience in business or public administration including high level administrative positions involving compliance, public contact and coordination of office business functions or closely related experience.Special Certifications and LicensesMust possess a valid Florida driver's license during employment and maintain authority to drive on County business.Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge and Customs Seal.PreferencesMaster's degree in Business or Public AdministrationAirline/Airport Industry experienceTenant Agreements and Improvement Process Application experienceAdditional Information: All candidates must complete an extensive ten (10) year work history verification and criminal background check, including fingerprinting and all other information as required by the Federal Aviation Administration. * Post-offer physical examination. * Ability to maintain authorization to drive a County vehicle. * Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge with custom clearance.

Work is performed independently with general supervision through conferences with administrative supervisor and by adherence to established policies and procedures. Supervision is received through conferences with an administrative superior and by adherence to established policies and procedures.The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.Maintaining accurate tenant contact information to ensure timely communication between the Airport and terminal tenants.Managing the day-to-day relationship between the Airport and terminal tenants to ensure appropriate conflict resolution outcomes involving all parties and favorable working relationships.Coordinating the tenant improvement process between tenants, contractors and the County.Attending internal agency meetings, tenant meetings and construction/contractor meetings.Reviewing airport construction projects and tenant impacts.Ensuring all of the proper documents and approvals are in order to ensure timely and successful completion of the project.Reviewing security deposits on file and verify requirements.Updating tenants on Chapter 39 rates and charges on an annual basis.Drafting agenda items, agreement amendments and other associated documents for Board and CEO approval.Ensuring compliance to all agreement/lease/permit terms and conditions, e.g. security deposits, bonds, insurance and construction plans and deadlines.Performs related work as required.
