Position Overview:
We’re seeking a highly skilled Commercial Rooftop Solar Installation Supervisor to manage daily operations on our job sites. In this role, you will lead two dedicated subcontractor teams — a mechanical installation crew and an electrical crew — to ensure that all installations strictly follow project plans, comply with electrical codes and safety regulations, and are completed on schedule.
We’re seeking a highly skilled Commercial Rooftop Solar Installation Supervisor to manage daily operations on our job sites. In this role, you will lead two dedicated subcontractor teams — a mechanical installation crew and an electrical crew — to ensure that all installations strictly follow project plans, comply with electrical codes and safety regulations, and are completed on schedule.
Your leadership will ensure projects are built to spec, pass inspection the first time, and meet the high standards Buffalo Solar is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day operations of commercial rooftop solar installations.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors (mechanical crew and electrical crew).
- Review and interpret construction plans, electrical schematics, and engineering documents to ensure proper execution.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, electrical codes, and industry standards for solar installations.
- Proactively troubleshoot on-site challenges and provide solutions to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure workmanship quality and strict adherence to plans.
- Enforce safety protocols and compliance with OSHA standards at all times.
- Prepare for inspections and ensure projects are completed to pass on the first visit.
- Communicate effectively with the project management team regarding timelines, milestones, and potential risks.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and daily progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience supervising commercial rooftop solar installations.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, including mechanical racking and electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, site layouts, and electrical diagrams.
- Deep understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) as it relates to solar installations.
- Experience managing subcontractors and maintaining project schedules.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make decisions on-site.
- Commitment to enforcing workplace safety and maintaining a clean job site.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
