LODGING SUPERVISOR- SEASONAL ROLE
Summary of Position:
In conjunction with the Lodging Manager, effectively oversee lodging operations including revenue, labor scheduling and management as well as public areas to ensure an extraordinary experience for all guests and visitors to the resort. This includes effective coaching and mentoring of staff providing training that addresses professional conduct, service standards and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Lodging Manager and HR to effectively recruit, interview, hire and train lodging team associates to ensure safe and efficient operations per the Company’s policies and procedures
- Provide effective supervision, professional development and recognition programs for all lodging staff for the purposes of employee growth and bench building
- Design, plan and coordinate special projects/events to improve and enhance guest services and housekeeping programs
- Timely and efficient scheduling of all staff with particular attention to peak operating periods and labor management
- Create programs that enhance team member relations with staff and guests to ensure a positive and productive work environment
- Personally inspect various areas of the facility, frequently, working closely with the lodging management team that inspects all guest rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to the Company’s cleaning and safety requirements
- Comply with and ensure the compliance with lost and found and key security procedures
- Ensure staff communications between Housekeeping, Laundry, Registration and Front Desk are timely and effective for the release of rooms on a daily basis
- Possess appropriate knowledge of the resort and surrounding area, and train staff in same, to be an effective information resource for all guests
- Assist the Lodging Manager and GM in preparing all appropriate budgets and subsequently monitor the rooms and campgrounds department budgets on a month-to-month basis including revenues and expenses
- Possess, train and share knowledge with guest services staff of company’s reservations and booking systems to ensure prompt and efficient service to guests at all times
- Assist with guest communications as requested by GM especially during weather events and/or other important times as necessary
- Respond to all guest requests or complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Effectively communicate with other departments regarding guest room availability, maintenance concerns and other requests related to rooms management
- Other duties as requested
Position Requirements:
- Possess strong leadership skills that motivate associates to perform at the highest levels
- Possess positive and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts
- Possess strong computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Rooms Management related systems
- Majority of shift will be spent on feet (up to 8 hours per day) in a fast paced environment, in close proximity to other people
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally with frequent bending, twisting and squatting required
Education and Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Sales and Marketing related fields preferred
Experience: Three (3) years successful lodging management, including campgrounds, experience
