Essential Functions:
This position requires performance of general clerical and technical work in the review and processing of tax payments from individuals and businesses. Candidates should have the ability to operate all standard office equipment and accurately utilize a standard keyboard to perform daily data entry as well as have a current working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. A strong work ethic and team player attitude is necessary with the ability to interact with coworkers and the general public while using great customer service skills.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and/or college with work related experience in the field of accounting or business management. Cashier work would be helpful.

Essential Functions:
- Complies with all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the Carroll County VA Treasurer Office and Virginia law.
- Processes all local tax payments and miscellaneous payments to the county.
- Ensures all payments are accounted for and posted properly in a timely manner.
- Maintains related records and files in accordance with the APA standards. Assists with annual APA audit of records as needed.
- Prepares and reconciles daily cash deposit.
- Ensure protection of highly confidential taxpayer information in accordance with the Virginia Secrecy Act and administrative regulations of the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to be bonded and pass a criminal background check.
- Other duties as assigned.
