Job Title: Employment Specialist (People with Disabilities)
Position Summary:
The Employment Specialist supports individuals with disabilities in preparing for, obtaining, and maintaining meaningful employment. This role involves personalized career planning, job development, skills training, and on-the-job support to empower clients toward greater independence and inclusion in the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one with clients to assess employment goals, interests, skills, and support needs.
- Develop individualized employment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and support teams.
- Assist with job readiness activities such as resume reviewing, interview preparation, and soft skills training.
- Identify and develop job opportunities through outreach to employers and community partners.
- Advocate with employers to create inclusive, accessible job placements.
- Provide ongoing job coaching and support to ensure job retention and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with funding and agency requirements.
- Collaborate with vocational rehabilitation services, schools, case managers, and other community organizations.
- Educate employers and co-workers on disability awareness and accommodations.
Qualifications:
- Desire to work with with individuals with disabilities, Experience is a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required for job site visits).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish speaking
- Familiarity with person-centered planning and strengths-based approaches.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office work, community-based meetings, and on-site job coaching.
- Flexible hours may be required, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
