Job Responsibilities
A. Essential Job Duties
- Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate CRVA goals.
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs.
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop the National Sales team.
- Manages National Sales team in strategic efforts for business development to promote the city as a destination.
- Advises partners and clients concerning sales techniques.
- Analyzes research to formulate policy and assist partners in promoting sales.
- Represents the company at trade association meetings to promote the destination.
- Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
- Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Coordinates efforts between the sales department, our external partners, and internal CRVA departments, such as the Charlotte Convention Center and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, to ensure the team maximizes our full booking potential.
- Engagement with CRVA partners to promote advocacy and partner relations.
- Analyzes and controls department expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities of the competition.
- Always maintains a professional demeanor.
- Solicit organizations and process inquiries to attain all established measurable goals.
- Leverage current and future technology to maximize results.
- Assist in developing agenda, presenting at, and scheduling internal and external meetings.
- Consistently deliver the best in customer service. Demonstrate a passion for inspiring and being a driving force behind the National Sales team to foster a successful cross-functional relationship internally and externally by applying the Service Philosophy to deliver memorable customer experiences.

- Responsible for the creation of reports that assist in the evaluation and execution of sales department and organizational strategies.
- Responsible for creating and accurately balancing quarterly, mid-year, and annual sales reports.
- Responsible for the creation of the midyear and end-of-the-year forecasting reports.
- Assist with the development of the overall department budget and sales goals.
- Assist in sales related decision-making and problem-solving for the sales department.
- Has hospitality industry skills that allow for successful relationships and negotiations of business deals between hotels, venues, and other parties.
- Assist and support the Director of Sales with other sales and leadership responsibilities, including internal and external presentations to stakeholders, running and facilitating departmental meetings, and working directly with the hospitality community and industry partners across the sales departments.

Scope of Responsibility
- This job has responsibility for budgetary analysis, preparation, and review assistance.
- This job will have periodic access to confidential data, including financial statements, company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, product costs, and company plans, designs, and/or programs.
- Manages up to six non-supervisory and supervisory employees in the sales department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; and four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as Microsoft Office Suites experience.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
- Must have a valid driver's license to transport clients for onsite inspections, trade shows and /or conferences.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Hybrid work schedule.
- This job requires up to 30% overnight travel.
