What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mailroom Assistant position at Chicago White Sox?
Responsibilities:
- Collect mail from the local Post Office
- Receive, sort, and deliver all incoming/outgoing mail & packages from USPS, UPS, FedEx and other couriers
- Log outgoing and incoming items as required into the Chicago White Sox tracking system
- Create a monthly inbound package system report for Major League Baseball
- Distribute mail to employees, clubhouse and other organizations inside Rate Field
- Collect and process mail from various departments throughout Rate Field multiple times daily
- Wrap, seal, weigh, affix postage and dispatch all outgoing mail/packages in accordance with postal regulations
- Provide minor maintenance of office equipment; such as solving paper jams, placing service calls and routine cleanings
- Monitor inventory of all supplies in mail area, stock paper and toner and keep supply area neat
- Process purchase requisitions for various departments
- Maintain relationships with various vendors; UPS, FedEx, Office Supply Vendors, Office Equipment Vendors, etc.
- Deliver mail as needed to outside partners through the use of a company vehicle
- Coordinate interdepartmentally on various projects within the organization
Skills
- Experience running mail posting equipment a plus
- Copier/fax/FedEx/postage machine knowledge
- Must be able to lift boxes up to 25lbs
- Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and demonstrate a team-oriented work style
- Ability to effectively handle shifting priorities and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Valid Driver’s License; excellent driving record
- Knowledge of Chicago White Sox organization and baseball a plus
Compensation:
- $19-$20 per hour
