Position Overview:
As the Operations Director for Chick-fil-A, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and team development. Your role will involve managing day-to-day operations, leading a team of managers and staff, ensuring the implementation of company policies and best practices, and driving operational efficiency in alignment with Chick-fil-A’s values and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Directly oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring all activities align with Chick-fil-A’s standards of quality, service, and cleanliness.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational performance and achieve business goals (sales growth, customer satisfaction, team performance, etc.).
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, labor costs, food costs, and customer service metrics, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
- Team Management & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate restaurant managers, assistant managers, and staff to build a cohesive and high-performing team.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and retention strategies to ensure the restaurant is staffed with top talent.
- Implement and maintain Chick-fil-A’s leadership development programs to nurture talent and promote from within.
- Customer Experience Excellence:
- Ensure Chick-fil-A’s high standards of customer service are consistently met and exceeded.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring the resolution aligns with Chick-fil-A’s customer-centric approach.
- Create and foster a positive customer experience culture within the restaurant.
- Financial Management & Budgeting:
- Manage the restaurant's budget, including labor costs, food costs, and operational expenses, while ensuring profitability.
- Prepare and review financial reports to monitor and optimize the restaurant’s performance.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality and service.
- Operational Efficiency & Compliance:
- Oversee inventory management to ensure that all supplies are adequately stocked, and food safety standards are met.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, company policies, and local, state, and federal laws.
- Continuously seek opportunities for operational improvement to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with the Franchise Owner/Operator to set goals, monitor performance, and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Serve as a liaison between corporate and restaurant-level operations to communicate and execute corporate strategies and initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior management role within the restaurant or hospitality industry, with at least 3 years of experience in operations management.
- Proven experience in leading high-performing teams and achieving operational goals in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Leadership Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while maintaining focus on operational efficiency.
- Financial Acumen:
- Solid understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control.
- Experience managing P&L (Profit & Loss) statements and driving profitability through effective financial management.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, customers, and leadership.
- Ability to convey expectations clearly and ensure accountability at all levels.
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Chick-fil-A operations or a similar fast-casual or quick-service restaurant environment.
- Familiarity with Chick-fil-A’s corporate culture, values, and operational systems.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
