Skilled Maintenance Technician II or Senior
In this role, you will diagnose, repair, maintain, and properly dispose of mechanical equipment ranging from handheld tools such as chainsaws, to ride on equipment such as tractors, utility vehicles, or aerators for the Parks department.
The annual hiring salary for the Skilled Maintenance Technician II position is: $59,370 to $71,273
The annual hiring salary for the Skilled Maintenance Technician Senior position is: $64,713 to $77,687
Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
Skilled Maintenance Technician II- Ability to diagnose and repair various types of equipment such as mowers, including two stroke and 4 stroke engines.
- Must be able to repair and maintain hand held equipment including, but not limited to, string trimmers, blowers, and chain saws.
- Electrical troubleshooting various types off equipment including golf carts, litter lifts, scooters, and mowers of various sizes and capabilities.
- Perform annual maintenance on a wide range of turf maintenance equipment including ride on and walk behind equipment.
- Respond to service calls and repair equipment in the field as necessary.
- Repair or replace tires and/or wheels as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of service and repair using Microsoft outlook, or Cartegraph asset management software.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Diagnosis and repair of diesel-powered equipment including tractors, UTV’s, ATV’s, and commercial turf mowers such as TORO 580D
- Electrical troubleshooting on various types of tractors, ATV’s, and a wide range of ride on equipment. Ability to troubleshoot 12V and 48V battery powered equipment.
- Ability to perform hydraulic system repair and rebuild cylinders.
- Driveline system repair, and hydrostatic transmission troubleshooting.
- Perform annual preventive maintenance training for park staff and seasonal employees.
- Respond to service calls and repair equipment in the field as necessary.
- Attend service schools as needed to keep up with industry standards.
- Acquisition and disposition of equipment based on department needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- Experience: Three years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.
Skilled Maintenance Technician Sr
- Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- Experience: Five years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.
Education and Experience Equivalency: One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.The following qualifications are not required, but they are considered desirable.
