SUPERVISION
SUPERVISION
- General supervision provided by the Court Administrator.
- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual. Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
- Assist the public in person and by phone including retrieving information and files, and providing general information regarding scheduling of court dates, defensive driving, warrants, and granting extensions; assist the public in problem solving and research activities.
- Compile, type, record and file a wide variety of court records, reports and materials including citations, summons, warrants, letters, reports, and complaints.
- Operate a computer terminal and printer to type, enter, modify and retrieve a wide variety of court documents, reports, records, letters and other material, including the use of current technologies for document workflow.
- Prepare documents required for defendants to appeal legal cases.
- Sort, file, copy and distribute court documents, reports to appropriate personnel; process paperwork required by law for cases appealed to a higher court.
- Collect, prepare, and process payments received; assist in sorting and balancing receipts and payments; deposit preparation; prepare cash drawer for following day; and verify account information as requested.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six months clerical work experience requiring public contact and the interpretation of rules and regulations
- Ability to type 35 wpm
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Possess or obtain Notary Public Certification from the State of Texas upon assignment.
- Level I Municipal Court Clerk Certification or must attain within 12 months of hire.
- Level II Municipal Court Clerk Certification or must attain within 24 months of hire.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Monday - Thursday 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Friday 7:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
