THE POSITION
The Office Assistant at the Business and Employment Resource Center (BERC) in Moreno Valley, CA, will provide exceptional customer service to job seekers and business owners through one-on-one assistance, workshops, and coaching programs, helping connect clients to resources. Responsibilities include conducting career-focused workshops, collecting data, maintaining attendee records, sharing Hire MoVal data, and representing BERC at community events. The role involves managing incoming calls, assisting visitors, providing information, directing inquiries, maintaining office supplies, handling deliveries, performing minor equipment repairs, and ensuring proper office upkeep. The Office Assistant will also coordinate meetings, workshops, and events, including marketing and logistical arrangements, and demonstrate proficiency in customer service, social media, digital marketing tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in social media marketing and design platforms (e.g., Canva) considered a plus. Exceptional communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment are essential for this role.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
Our ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills in providing one-on-one assistance to job seekers and business owners through leading workshops and coaching programs by helping them connect to resources. They will have the ability to conduct career-focused workshops, collect data, maintain attendee records, offer program introductions and feedback, collect and share Hire MoVal data through various platforms, and represent BERC at community events. They will communicate with customers to ensure their needs are met, manage incoming calls, assist visitors, provide information, direct inquiries, maintain office supplies, handle deliveries, perform minor equipment repairs, and ensure the proper maintenance of BERC offices. Additionally, they will coordinate meetings, workshops, and events, including marketing and logistical arrangements, demonstrate proficiency in customer service, social media, digital marketing tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with marketing through social media platforms, Canva, or other design platforms is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and one year of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
