About This Position
The City of Phoenix Public Transit Department is the largest member of the Valley Metro regional transit system and provides a broad spectrum of transit services. These include local commuter bus services to alternative transportation solutions for individuals with disabilities and senior citizens.
The Facilities Division of the Public Transit Department is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to be responsible for day-to-day professional-level administrative duties.

This May Include
- Managing operating and/or capital budgets.
- Conducting independent research studies.
- Assisting in the development of operational policies and procedures.
- Writing policies, reports, and contracts.
- Staffing meetings and conducting training and group presentations with City staff and the public.
- Coordination and problem solving across departmental lines.
- Assisting in implementing improvements.
- Evaluating and making recommendations on administrative projects and problems.
SALARY
Pay Range: $30.31 to $51.83 per hour.
Hiring Range: $30.31 to $47.01 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of professional experience in public administration or governmental research or finance.
- AND Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.
- Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.

- Public Transit services.
- Federal Transit Administration (FTA) processes and procedures.
- Conducting research, analyzing results, and recommending solutions.
- Restitution programs related to property damage incidents.
- Performing administrative functions, including professional service contracts, inquiries, and general office management.
- Budget and fiscal processes and procedures.
- Facilities administration.
- City work order systems.
- Providing support for badging and security activities.
