ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Strategic Information Bureau seeks a Data Integrity Technicians (Police Automated System Secretary). The Data Integrity Technician inputs data into local, state, and national law enforcement databases. This position also maintains the accuracy and integrity of data in the Records Management System while handling a high volume of work. Employees work closely with department sworn personnel, tow company employees, and other law enforcement entities. Other responsibilities include responding to teletypes within strict timelines and answering calls from citizens. The Data Integrity Technician must be able to multitask, work under tight deadlines, and provide a high level of customer service.

The Data Integrity Detail is a 24/7 operation. Weekend and holiday work is required, and schedules are assigned based on seniority.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn and apply local, federal, and state laws and regulations in the administration of job duties.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

SALARY


Pay Range: $20.51 to $33.41 per hour.

Hiring Range: $20.51 to $28.86 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years of general secretarial or skilled typing experience, including a thorough knowledge of proper spelling.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

  • Positions in the Police Department must meet the background standards that are appropriate to non-sworn positions. The general factors for disqualification are listed here.
  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • Must type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
  • Experience with customer service.
  • Experience working with sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Experience paying attention to detail.
  • Must be able to obtain a level A Arizona Department of Public Safety Criminal Justice Information System Terminal Operator Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience working with Police Records Management Systems (RMS).
