The Phoenix Police Department's Information Technology Bureau seeks a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Information Technology System Specialist to join our dedicated team. As a Senior Information Technology System Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Business Application Services team of the Phoenix Police Department. Your expertise will directly contribute to ensuring the efficiency and security of business applications used by sworn personnel and civilian professionals across the department.
In this highly collaborative role, you will work closely with various teams within the Police Department to maintain business operations and lead various projects. This includes implementing new technology solutions for law enforcement operations, ensuring smooth system functionality in high-pressure environments, and offering expert guidance on software products. The Senior Information Technology System Specialist will also collaborate with external vendors, ensuring that all business applications are effectively maintained and optimized to meet the department's evolving needs.

The Senior Information Technology System Specialist will also collaborate with external vendors, ensuring that all business applications are effectively maintained and optimized to meet the department's evolving needs.
The Senior Information Technology System Specialist position will be responsible for:
- Supervise the Business Applications team consisting of 10 members comprised of DevOps, GIS, Sharepoint, vendor applications, and front-line technical support staff.
- Maintain operations for all the business applications in use by the department
- Ensure all applications are current with security patches, operating systems, and upgrades
- Lead software development projects adhering to the software development life cycle best practices and city policies
- Research, propose, and implement new or replacement application requests gathering scope of work, business requirements, cost analysis and timelines
- Manage software renewals and IT support contracts to ensure vendor accountability
- Work and collaborate with business owners, leadership, fellow technical teams, other city departments, or vendors as needed
- Skills include leadership, system design, database management, and project management
- Knowledge of tools such as PowerApps, Visual Studio, and SQL databases

- Analyze the complex procedures and provide feedback for improvements.
- Identify potential issues and implementing solutions before they escalate.
- Work effectively independently or with teams of both technical and non-technical staff.
- Handle high-pressure situations and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
- Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including writing clear incident reports and documentation.
- Demonstrate superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activities.
Pay Range: $88,691.20 to $131,040.00 annually.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of experience as an Information Technology Systems Specialist involving database management and on-line telecommunications.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or a related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Experience with/in:
- Providing technical support for system infrastructure and/or software.
- Working in a large-scale environment and leading technical staff and projects.
- Supervisory and managerial responsibilities.
- Writing data extraction routines, reports development, and business intelligence dashboards.
- Developing system configuration in critical applications, ensuring that business requirements are met.
- Comprehending and translating business requirements into system design documents and coordinating the development, testing, and deployment of new features.
- Developing, testing and deployment of system-to-system interfaces using web services and/or comparable modern integration tools or practices.
- Working in a Public Safety technology environment is preferred.
