Job Summary
The City of Westlake Ohio is seeking a legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal for its criminal division. Applicant must be tech savvy and work well both independently and as a team. The position includes paid time off. The position is on-site.
Duties
- Assist City’s Prosecutors with criminal cases in Rocky River Municipal Court
- Creation and maintenance of prosecution files
- Preparation of discovery responses
- Typing and filing of pleadings and other legal documents
- Composing correspondence
- Assist with public record request responses
- General clerical duties such as answering phones and filing
- Other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Law

- Proficient in Microsoft word, excel and outlook

- Proactively support the City’s attorneys

- Communicate clearly and professionally

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Legal assistant or paralegal experience preferred
- Experience working for a municipal government, police department, or municipal court preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
