Classical Charter Schools are high-performing public charter schools in the South Bronx. We maintain an uncompromising but purposeful structure that liberates teachers and scholars from distraction, transforming the classroom into an environment sharply focused on learning. Despite serving students typically deemed ‘at-risk,’ we consistently outperform over 90% of New York schools and won the National Blue Ribbon Award for Exemplary High Performance in 2014. Founded in 2006, South Bronx Classical I serves Kindergarten to eighth grade. South Bronx Classical II and III opened in 2013 and 2015 and will grow one grade each year through eighth grade. We seek mission-driven professionals as we broaden our impact across the city. Classical plans to open an additional two schools in the next three years.
Position Summary
Classical Charter Schools seeks a Talent Manager to become an essential part of our network’s senior leadership. While reporting to the Founder & Executive Director, the Talent Manager will work closely with School Directors to develop and execute a robust talent strategy that that attracts and retains top performers across our school network. A successful candidate will:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to design a strategy for talent acquisition
- Implement a comprehensive recruitment and retention strategy resulting in a truly exceptional staff that can lead South Bronx children to academic achievement on par with the best schools nationwide
- Work creatively and relentlessly to solve complex recruitment and retention challenges
- Lead team members to achieve outstanding results
- Have a commitment to excellence and a willingness to learn
- Passionately and effectively communicate the benefits of choosing Classical
Qualifications
- 2 years experience recruiting in a fast paced environment
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Alignment with organization's two fold mission: high academic achievement for all scholars and building citizens of impeccable character
- Demonstrated application of our core values: Accountability, Innovation, Professionalism, Rigor, Tenacity, Transparency, and Urgency
- Experience working in a charter school preferred but not required
