Clemens Food Group is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our team. The role includes tracking, analyzing, and reporting on the cost of manufacturing processes to ensure accurate accounting of the cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, production costs, and gross margin. This role offers high visibility and the chance to collaborate cross-functionally across business units, enabling both professional growth and the opportunity to enhance our product-level cost insights.
This position is not suited for those with a primary background in accounts payable or receivable, as it focuses on operational analysis and cost accounting. The ideal candidate will engage directly with the manufacturing floor to develop a deep understanding of cost drivers and operational processes.

- Financial Collaborator: Skilled in cost accounting, including direct labor, material, and overhead allocation, and comfortable collaborating across departments like sales and operations.
- Data-driven strategist: Proficient in Excel and cost modeling, able to analyze product margins and forecast trends.
- Detail-Oriented Leader: Experienced in inventory control, physical inventory counts, and month-end processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Enhance Costing Systems: Manage item-level costing for labor, materials, and overhead allocation while educating teams on cost/margin impacts.
- Perform Analyses: Conduct routine analysis of product cost factors and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support Profitability Goals: Collaborate with sales on pricing strategies, develop business unit allocations, and drive BU profitability through detailed reporting.
- Lead Operational Efforts: Oversee inventory counts, assist with financial reports, and participate in forecasting and audit processes.
- Some travel to our Tyrone, PA plant is required.
