Who we’re looking for:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues related to computer hardware, software, and mobile devices. This role ensures the smooth operation of technology resources within the organization by providing timely and effective support to end-users. The specialist also contributes to the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment, software, and systems.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide technical support to end-users via various channels (phone, email, chat, in-person)
- Document and track support requests, resolutions, and relevant information in a ticketing system
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including operating systems, applications, and peripherals
- Manage mobile devices utilizing a MDM to deploy baseline configurations and approve/deploy applications
- Install, configure, and upgrade software applications, drivers, and operating systems utilizing Microsoft SCCM/Intune
- Administer and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory and other systems.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to identify and implement solutions for complex technical problems
- Create and maintain documentation as needed by department to include knowledge base and tutorials
- Conduct hardware and software inventory management and maintain accurate records
- Assist in the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network/security hardware
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to enhance technical skills and knowledge
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to have:
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred
- 3 years of Proven experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting IT-related issues
- Experience with SonicWALL firewall configuration and management
- Familiarity with Hyper-V virtualization technology and Windows Server administration
- Proficiency in working with Dell hardware, including servers, desktops, and laptops
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with non-technical users
- Detail-oriented and skilled in problem-solving and critical thinking
- Related certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or similar are a plus
- Ability to adapt to rapid changes/rapid work environment, manage competing demands
- Capacity to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting
- Eagerness to learn new concepts and technologies quickly
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and skills (oral and written)
- Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
