Crisis Center Nurse (LPN/RN) - Weekend Days

Job Overview

Join our compassionate team at Compass Health Network as a Nurse LPN/RN in our Crisis Center, where you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care during weekend shifts. This full-time position operates Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, offering a $3,600 sign-on bonus to support our urgent community service needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including health assessments, pain evaluations, vital sign monitoring, dressing applications, and daily care for individuals at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
• Administer medications responsibly, including medication passes, injections, and observing self-administration.
• Maintain accurate medication records and manage controlled substances effectively.
• Provide patient and family education on physical health and medication management.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, physicians, and pharmacies to coordinate care for patients in crisis.
• Document observable changes in patients’ behavior and physical conditions accurately.
• Assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Educate new staff on protocols and procedures.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team and leadership meetings as assigned.
• Deliver direct patient care, including with individuals who may be verbally or physically distressed.
• Be prepared for mandatory overtime as required.

• Strong verbal, written, and nonverbal communication abilities.
• Effective organizational, cognitive, and emotional skills to manage stress and navigate challenging situations.
• Proficiency in providing direct patient care.
  
  

Qualifications

• Practical Nursing Certificate or an Associate's/Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Minimum of one year of psychiatric experience; experience in an acute care or hospital setting is preferred.
• Valid LPN or RN licensure in Missouri is mandatory.
