LPN/RN Nurse - Days at Crisis Center

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse LPN/RN to join our Crisis Stabilization Center, focusing on delivering high-quality psychiatric care. This role is essential in upholding professional nursing standards while working as a vital member of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to aiding individuals facing behavioral crises. You will be instrumental in coordinating care and services, ensuring a supportive environment for both patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including health and pain assessments, vital sign monitoring, and daily patient care for individuals at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
• Administer medications responsibly, including medication passes, injections, and overseeing self-administration by patients.
• Manage medication records diligently, including the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and controlled substance counts.
• Educate patients regarding their health and medications to empower informed decisions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, psychiatrists, and pharmacies, to ensure cohesive patient care.
• Document and report observable changes in patients’ behavior, attitudes, and physical conditions.
• Assist in a variety of diagnostic and treatment procedures, while also supporting new employees through education on protocols.
• Participate actively in team and leadership meetings as required.
• Provide patient care to adults, including those who may exhibit verbal or physical agitation.
• Be prepared to participate in mandatory overtime as necessary.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of psychiatric nursing experience; experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
• Valid LPN or RN license in the state of Missouri is required.
• An Associate’s degree in nursing is required, while a Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
