Position Summary: Assess the lending needs and presenting all products and services applicable. In addition, this team member would provide timely and accurate processing for consumer lending requests. This role is responsible for accepting and servicing loan files, assigning applications to lending officers, taking incoming calls, quoting interest rates, and corresponding with loan applicants. This role is also responsible for ensuring loan and membership documentation is complete and verified as accurate for underwriting purposes. This position is a supportive role to all other functions in the Lending Department.
Essential Job Competencies:

· Technical Skills: Current computer skills, experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and experience using loan origination and/or core credit union software.

· Comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act and all related policies and procedures. Must obtain all required information to accurately complete CTRs, perform OFAC screening when appropriate and report any unusual or suspicious activity to the BSA Officer. Must complete annual BSA training as assigned.
Responsibilities:
· Gather background information on loan applicants by interviewing loan applicants, obtaining credit bureau reports, and reviewing the core system for additional account information and history.
· Assist in product assessment and completion of loan application by obtaining necessary member documentation for loan processing.
· Quote interest rates to loan applicants.
· Review credit bureau report, verify debts, estimate monthly payments for unlisted debts, calculate various debt ratios.
· Resolve loan application problems; assist applicants with addressing credit report problems, low salary levels, high debt ratios and other credit criteria.
· Order and prepare credit reports, collateral valuations, title reports, payoff quotes and other documents whenever required.
· Verify employment, salary, assets, and liabilities and notify members of additional information required.
· Provide all applicable loan and account disclosures.
· Processing Gap and VSC Products.
· Communicate with customers in the event their application is denied, reasons and path to assist members with future lending needs.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
· Experience in consumer lending and basic understanding of the financial and/or banking industry: a viable combination of experience and education will be considered.
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office with competencies in Excel, general computer programs, and general office equipment.
· Proficient in organizing projects, prioritizing work, and completing multiple tasks accurately.
· Ability to work under minimal supervision.
· Ability to receive and maintain confidential information.
· Ability and willingness to obtain the Certified Financial Counselor status.
