What are the responsibilities and job description for the People Coordinator position at Costa Farms?
Costa Farms’ People Coordinator is responsible for quality control and timely processing of all new hire activities as well as duties and responsibilities related to People Compliance.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Submit tickets to IT for hardware request
- Update Recruitment Dashboard with ticket #’s
- Launch the Onboarding Application for new hires
- Update New User Request Sheet (weekly)
- Send (phone call/email) reminder to new hires to complete application (Thursday before start date)
- Follow-up with IT to ensure equipment is ready and accounts are set up prior to new hire’s 1st day of employment
- Process application in UKG Pro
- Make copies of I-9 documents
- Complete document verification process for I-9 form in Onboarding
- Submit E-Verify case (if applicable)
- Update new hires’ UKG profile with I-9 information
- Print ID Badges
- Verifications of Employment
- Create Concur accounts
- Prepare H2A Weekly Wage Statements
- Review, correct and manage I9s to ascertain compliance
- Handle unemployment claims, including coordinating appeal hearings with corresponding People Business Partners
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Assist with creating/running compliance-related reports
- Assist with management of Compliance posters
- Assist with Costa Scholarship Program by answering emails, obtaining student documentation, preparing checks
- Assist with various compliance matters and requirements related to the H2A Program
- Assist with the collection of and recording of safety trainings to ascertain compliance
- Other duties as may arise within the Compliance department

QUALIFICATIONS
The People Coordinator is required to have a sharp eye for handling data and explaining technical concepts in easy-to-understand language.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related discipline (preferred)
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Has great attention to detail and review own work
- Solid communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proven experience as an HR onboarding coordinator or in a relevant role
- Bilingual is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite or related software
- UKG experience is preferred.
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Ability to build networks
- Ability to multitask and work as part of a diverse team
