The County of Door, WI is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Invasive Species Management Specialist. This is a seasonal limited term employee (LTE) position that will play a critical role in the inventory and control of priority invasive species infestations throughout Door County.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fieldwork to identify and map new and existing invasive plant populations.
- Work with the public and private landowners to provide education and guidance on proper control methods for invasive species.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to prevent the spread of invasive species.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure effective communication and coordination of efforts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma and 1 year training in a science related field or related experience in land management.
- Experience recognizing plant and animal species, especially invasive species found in Door County.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
