This position involves supervision and oversight of road construction, paving and / or utility projects and will require the applicant to manage project budgets and schedules.
We provide excellent benefits including Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance and a Company Sponsored Pension Plan.Job responsibilities including but not limited to :Follow and reinforce company safety policiesLead field operations to ensure safety, quality and productivityCoordinate forepersons and crews to ensure adequate staffing of jobsMonitor and improve crew productions and understand goalsMeet with forepersons and crews to plan daily schedules and effectively communicate goals of project with forepersonsCommunicate with owners, agencies and inspectorsMay work with union BA's / Stewards to hire labor force and understand labor and union agreementsOversee compliance with all safety policies and OSHA regulationsManage day-to-day operations of job site including material procurement, equipment use and laborer oversightMonitor and ensure site safety controls and develop SSHASP in collaboration with safety departmentAttend meetings and provide technical assistanceEssential functions of the positionPerform a variety of tasks that will include having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb, and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as back up spotting and be able to hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocolsQualifications :A Bachelors degree in civil engineering / construction management preferredA minimum of 7 years experience in a bridge / heavy highway construction field requiredA minimum of 3-5 years' supervisory experienceAbility to adapt to and learn a variety of computer applicationsStrong attention to detailExcellent communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsGreat interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others and as a teamMust have proficient knowledge with NYSDOT standard specification as it relates to constructionAbility to interpret blueprints and analyze job costsAble to complete required duties in a fast-paced environment and within stated deadlinesMust be willing to travelMust have a valid drivers license or reliable transportation to report to work on timeMust pass a pre-employment drug screenCompensation :Base salary commensurate with experience, participation in company bonus plan, an excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, and a company funded pension plan.Base salary range : Level
