This position is located in the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Executive Office of the Chief of Police (EOCOP), Patrol Operations Chief (POC), Youth and Family Engagement Division (YFED), Cadet Corps Branch (CCB). The incumbent recruits qualifying candidates for the Cadet Corps and Expeditioner Programs by developing relationships with the District of Columbia Public School (DCPS) and Public Charter Schools.

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CS-11 grade level in the District of Columbia government, or its non-District equivalent, gained from the private or public sector. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience applying and understanding operational policies and procedures of organizational programs; communicating with others both orally and in writing and present information in a clear and concise manner; using computer applications to create, edit and maintain documents and spreadsheets, maintaining a schedule and calendar for events, orientations and interviews; and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Work Environment
The work is normally sedentary, but includes some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items such as papers and books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work is performed in a typical office setting.

The Incumbent Will Be Responsible For The Following
- Conducts recruiting at the middle and high schools in the District of Columbia for the Cadet Corps and Expeditioner Programs.
- Works with leadership within Anacostia High School with the tenacity program.
- Monitors, tracks and records the statistics of the Cadet Corps and Expeditioner Interest Cards.
- Provides the weekly interest card statistics of applicants to the Recruiting Division.
- Coordinates and manages the prospect days to ensure smooth operation.
- Coordinates and manages the interviews of candidates.
- Collaborates and maintains working relationship with the DCPS, charter schools, career counselors and school officers.
- Completes monthly reports on all recruiting numbers.
- Maintains and updates all changes with applicants to the Cadet Corps.
- Works with the Recruiting Division to ensure that the cadets transition smoothly to recruit officers and are placed in the background process upon completion of the 60 college credits.
- Participates in career fairs throughout the District of Columbia and within the DCPS.
- Develops and maintains a relationship with the counselors, school resource officers and staff within DCPS and Public Charter Schools.
- Prepares transitioning cadets for the background process and ensures cadets are up to date with all recruiting requests from the background investigators.
- Works with various units to create and prepare activities for the Expeditioner Program.
- Coordinates with the Strategic Engagement Office (SEO) of MPD on creating promotional videos for Cadet Corps and the Expeditioner Programs. Creates new recruiting strategies to
- advertise for the programs with brochures and outreach.
- Attends meetings or performs work at locations outside the office.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Comprehensive knowledge of the MPD and YFED mission, function, and operational policies and procedures of organizational programs to effectively and accurately complete work assignments with established operational objectives.
- Ability to maintain a schedule and calendar for events, orientations and interviews.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others both orally and in writing to formulate and present information. The ability to explain and ensure cohesive and cooperative efforts.
- Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office in order to create, edit and maintain documents and spreadsheets.
