Location: 100% Onsite (Routine travel within 10 miles) - Augusta, Maine
Overview:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Desktop Support Specialist to provide hands-on desktop support and inventory management in a fast-paced IT environment. This role is essential in ensuring that end users have the necessary hardware and support to maintain productivity. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, experience in desktop support, and the ability to manage IT equipment inventory effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and configure IT equipment, including laptops, docking stations, monitors, and peripherals.
- Maintain an accurate inventory log of all IT assets.
- Provide proactive assistance to end users with basic desktop support and troubleshooting.
- Ensure all work is properly documented for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Adhere to quality standards and IT best practices.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment, supporting IT operations and service improvements.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with end users, providing timely and accurate responses to IT-related inquiries.
- Participate in bi-weekly team and problem review meetings.
- Manage the retirement and disposal of obsolete IT equipment in compliance with policies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong customer service skills with a proactive approach to user support.
- Experience providing hands-on desktop support, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues.
