One of the premier providers of coating solutions in the Midwest, Diamond Vogel focuses on meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Buyer to join our Supply Chain team at our aerosol facility in Menomonee Falls, WI. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in purchasing or a related supply chain field, with a focus on the manufacturing industry. Reporting to the Director of Aerosol Supply Chain, the Buyer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth procurement of materials and products to support our manufacturing operations.
This position will be full-time, on-site at our aerosol facility in Menomonee Falls, WI. Occasional travel (less than 5%) to other locations, suppliers, etc. may be necessary.
Responsibilities
Purchasing Transactions and Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Review and evaluate purchase requisitions generated by ERP system
o Identify and escalate critical stock-out situations
o Ensure alignment with production operations, participate daily in operations, schedule reviews
o Utilize demand planning forecasts to develop long-term procurement strategies
Data and Materials Management
o Update settings and manage inventory levels of assigned parts (prices, lot sizes, etc.) and relevant suppliers (lead times, etc.)
o Analyze procurement spend and identify optimization opportunities
o Identify risks and provide recommendations to mitigate
o Align corporate inventory KPIs
o Resolve quality issues with suppliers
Skills, Qualifications, and Education
- Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in purchasing or a related supply chain role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with an MRP system such as but not limited to: AS400, SAP, Oracle, IFS, QAD.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to raw materials and products is a plus.
- Experience managing chemical commodities.
