JOB OBJECTIVES:
To assist with the administration of the day-to-day operation of the Auditor-Treasurer Department and perform assigned duties related to property tax collection primarily during the months of May and October and on occasion throughout the rest of the year based on business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. - Ability to effectively communicate with the public.
- Assisting with providing prompt, accurate, excellent customer service.
- Performing data entry.
- Process accounts receivable, primarily property tax payments.
- Process taxpayer address changes.
- Competency with computers, the internet, and common office software (MS Office programs).
- Working knowledge of general office equipment.
- Effectively handle conflict with members of the public and show good customer service skills.
- Sorts and distributes mail and assists with the preparation of large mailings.
- Files documents and folders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to use discretion and safeguard sensitive information, documents, and supplies in a confidential manner.
- Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
- Comply with all rules and policies in order to maintain a safe work environment.
- Reliable, predictable attendance and punctuality.

The incumbent may encounter not public data in the course of these duties. Any access to not public data should be strictly limited to accessing the data that are necessary to fulfill the employment responsibility. While data are being accessed, incumbent should take reasonable measures to ensure the not public data are not accessed by individuals without a work reason. Once the work reason to access the data is reasonably finished, incumbent must properly store the not public data according to the provisions Ch. 13.
If a new work assignment requires access to not public data, the incumbent is permitted to access not public data for the work assignment purposes only. Any access to not public data must be strictly limited to the data necessary to complete the work assignment and after the assignment is completed, the employee's work assignment no longer requires access.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT HIRE
Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
Must possess software skills, internet skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet skills.
Licenses and other requirements
Valid Minnesota Drivers License.

Flexible scheduling, Monday through Friday, Generally, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
