Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed by the state of MA
- Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to demonstrate organizational and educational skills
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other healthcare-related facility
- Four years’ experience preferred with a minimum of two years long term care experience
- Knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care
- Completion of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- Valid CPR certification required
- Basic computer skills
Responsibilities:
- Planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department
- Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local standards governing long-term care facilities
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and periodic updating of written nursing policies, procedures, and reference materials
- Provide orientation, mandatory in-services, continuing education, and other training to meet department and regulatory requirements
- Assist in coordinating nursing services with other resident services
- Oversee nursing services personnel to ensure all duties are performed effectively
- Participate in surveys and inspections by government agencies and implement corrective actions as needed
