Residential Manager Position
Job Summary
The role of a Residential Manager is to lead and oversee the operation and management of assigned site homes. The Residential Manager supervises direct support staff and directly work with individuals with intellectual disabilities to support them to become independent, empowered, make choices, decisions, and live meaningful dignified life with valued social roles. The Residential Manager is the role-model leader that works closely with the staff and team to facilitate the implementation of person-centered needs of the individuals we support as outlined in the individual plan. As a leader, the Residential Manager is responsible for the creation of an enabling environment where the health, safety, and well-being of the individual is of the highest priority.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Provide frontline supervision to direct support staff; meet regularly to provide skill training and mentoring that supports staff development and document and address any identified needs for improvement.
- Manage site scheduling including all callouts, time-off requests and ensure coverage is always available to meet the needs of the individual we support.
- Collaborate with HR team to assist in the interviewing, hiring, and orientation process and performance evaluation of DSPs.
- Be actively involved and attend all planning and team meetings including monitoring for every individual.
Schedule and attend all medical appointments with the individuals and report immediately any medical follow-up and/or concerns to the agency RN/NP. Respond appropriately to crisis situations by notifying the appropriate persons and completing/submitting incident reports.
- Develop and coordinate the planning of monthly individual activities and community outings and ensure their implementations.
- Manage, monitor, and reconcile all home and individual-related expenditures and petty cash
- Oversee the maintenance, upkeep and safety of the physical site and site vehicles, reporting needed repairs and conditions to the Program Director.
- Monitor and ensure the timely completion of all site documentation (such as QA Checks and Medication Reviews, Service Notes review, monthly fire drills) and communicate any issues or concerns directly to the Program Director.
- Work closely with QA team to ensure the homes consistently meet licensing and compliance requirements.
Schedule and lead quarterly and/or emergent staff meetings (face-to-face OR virtual). Must work and provide direct care support for at least 40 hours per week .
Acts as the weekly on-call supervisor for assigned homes. Collaborate and actively participate in weekend on-call rotation with on-call team.
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience working with adults with ID/A and/or challenging behavioral/mental health issues.
Required Education
High School Diploma, bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Required Qualifications
At least 18 years of age. Valid PA driver’s license with good driving record.
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Successful completion of ODP required training.
- Successful completion of pre-employment process, including motor vehicle and criminal background checks.
