What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader position at Edge Landscaping?
Edge Landscaping is seeking an experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader with a Valid drivers License to join our expanding team! The Maintenance Crew Leader directly supervises crew members and works alongside the team members to provide the leadership, experience, and skills necessary to deliver a quality finished product.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a crew of 2-6 crew members in all landscape maintenance activities such as (but not limited to): edging, trimming, mowing, mulching, pruning and general clean-up.
- Knows and follows all company safety, personnel, and procedure policies
- Ensures that the team has necessary tools and materials to accomplish projects.
- Manage time, productivity, and material record keeping.
- Provide consistent and timely communication with customers, team members and managers.
- Ensure adherence to plans and quality of work.
- Recommend modifications based on field conditions, client requests, and/or supply issues.
- Utilize hands-on training philosophies and demonstrate a strong work ethic through your example.
- Promote safety, performance, and well-being of all crews.
- Follows the direction of the Account Manager or Operations Manager to satisfy job requirements.
- Ability to use all mowers properly and knowledge of best mowing practices for each turf type.
- Safely and efficiently operate lawn maintenance equipment and other tools including but not limited to edger, line trimmer, mower, backpack blower, hoe, shovel and pruners.
- Identify and pull/remove weeds.
- 100% Responsible for fueling their vehicle and equipment with the Correct Fuel
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop of shop, department or work crew.
- Tracks hours accurately by clocking crew in and out. Punctuality of start and end times on each property, breaks, and lunch periods.
- Maintains a clean and professional work site, truck/trailer, and uniform on a daily basis.
- Assures proper securement of equipment for transport.
- Notifies the Mechanic or Operations Manager of any vehicle or equipment problems ASAP
- Tags any broken or unsafe equipment for the Mechanic
- Represent the company with professionalism and with good public relations.
- Adapt to various working situations.
- Perform additional required and incidental activities.
- Ability to work well with all crew members and multiple Account Managers
- Ability to load and unload truck and trailer
- Adhere to company policies, standards and safety guidelines
- Maintain a positive work environment, no drug, alcohol abuse or background issues
Requirements:
- Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license
- Must have at least 1 year experience in the landscape industry
- Must have full range of mobility including but not limited to standing, bending over, kneeling, squatting and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
