We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated Project Manager to join our team and lead renovation projects at major airports in the region, including Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).
Job Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing commercial renovation projects within the airport facilities in the Washington DC metro area. This role will involve leading projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing large-scale renovations, preferably within airport environments or similar high-security commercial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all phases of commercial renovation projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, contractor selection, and construction oversight.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client goals and requirements.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including airport authorities, clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure project success.
- Monitor project progress and performance, resolving any issues or delays in a timely manner to keep the project on track.
- Ensure compliance with airport safety regulations, security protocols, and local building codes.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality control, assess contractor performance, and address any potential risks.
- Provide regular updates to clients and internal leadership on project status, including risks, progress, and changes in scope or budget.
- Coordinate and manage permits, inspections, and approvals from relevant authorities.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure accurate reporting for financial tracking and final project reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in commercial project management, with a focus on renovations or construction, preferably within airport environments.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, project management methodologies, and the ability to manage complex, multi-phased projects.
- Experience working with airport authorities and navigating the regulatory requirements unique to airport environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, contracts, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Must pass background check and be able to obtain necessary airport security clearance.
- PMP certification is a plus, but not required.
- OSHA 10 Certification or higher a plus.
