General Description:
The Wellness and Fitness Coordinator will serve under the direction of the Wellness and Fitness Director in all areas of Wellness at Elim Park. . The Coordinator will conduct safe and effective group land and aquatic exercise classes and will enforce the rules and regulations of the Fitness Center for the safety of the participants and staff. The Coordinator will serve as a role model for health and well-being and must genuinely care for older adults and be able to assess their needs.
Perform as the charge person in the absence of the Director.
- Teach all levels of group exercise classes on land and in the water, placing emphasis on strength, balance, and flexibility, posture and proprioception
- Assist Wellness and Fitness Director in creating and leading new exercise classes.
- Perform and analyze Fitness Assessments and Mobility Reviews.
- Conducts needs assessments or surveys to determine interest in, or satisfaction with wellness and fitness programs, events or services.
- Assist in tracking outcomes and attendance of those enrolled in the wellness initiative and in monitoring programming for participation and satisfaction.
- Assist in recruitment of new clients.
- Provide personal training to clients on a fee-for-service basis. Revenue generated from one-on-one training will be added to Wellness Department revenue.
- Promote fitness and wellness throughout the organization.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment including maintaining or arranging for maintenance of fitness equipment.
- Perform general maintenance of facility and equipment, including the pool and spa.
- Maintain appropriate fitness certifications including maintaining Basic Water Rescue certification.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.
- Exposure to water and pool chemicals in the pool area.
- Frequent exposure to temperature and humidity changes.
- Office space, computer, and phone must be shared.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Moderate noise level.Entry Level Qualifications:
- Preferred four year college degree; Degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred.
- Professional experience and certification with ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NASM , RTS preferred.
- CPR/AED certification required.
- Genuine interest in older adults and patience in dealing with their needs.
- Basic computer skills required. Knowledge of additional programs such as Excel preferred.

- Must be in good physical health to meet the essential functions of the position.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and perform aerobic exercise moves on land and in the water.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stretch, reach, balance, squat, kneel, or lay on the floor.
- Must be able to walk and stand for the majority of the work day.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Equipment to be used:
- Exercise equipment including, but not limited to, dumbbells, elastic tubing and bands, balls, rings, and other exercise equipment for land and pool classes.

- Cardiovascular equipment including treadmills, bikes, Cybex Arc Trainer and NuStep.

Salary : $47,500 - $60,100
