Essential Duties
- Develop validation strategies and plans for Electric Vehicle systems and components, including software, hardware, and mechanical subsystems.
- Create and execute test procedures, including functional, environmental, durability, and performance testing, in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Operate validation tools such as Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and diagnostic tools to evaluate system performance.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes of system failures or deficiencies.
- Document and report test results with clear, concise technical communication to cross functional teams, including design, software, and quality engineering teams.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of validation issues, working collaboratively with development teams to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure validation activities are completed on time and align with project schedules and milestones.
- Maintain test equipment, fixtures, and facilities to ensure reliable operation and calibration as needed.
- Collaborate with external vendors, suppliers, and certification bodies for validation activities and compliance testing as required.
- Continuously improve validation processes, test methodologies, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and coverage.
- Strong understanding of validation and verification processes in the automotive industry, particularly for Electric Vehicles (EVs).
- Hands-on experience with validation tools and equipment, including data acquisition systems, HIL, SIL, CANalyzer, CANoe, and oscilloscopes.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 26262, FMVSS, and UNECE, related to EV safety and performance.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system architecture documents.
- Skilled in data analysis and visualization using tools such as MATLAB, Python, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and diagnostic standards (UDS, OBD).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook) and familiar with project management and issue-tracking tools such as Jira.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is required. Equivalent education or experience may also be considered.
- Over 7 years of experience in validation and verification of automotive systems, preferably within the EV industry.
- Proven experience in test plan creation, execution, and reporting, with a focus on EV components such as Battery Management Systems (BMS), inverters, motors, and control units.
- Experience with validation standards and protocols, and working knowledge of safety-critical systems validation is highly desirable.
- Certifications in quality management, testing methodologies, or functional safety (ISO 26262) are a plus.
