Job Description: Program Manager, Non Profit Energy Assistance (NEEP)

Location: Denver, CO, 80203

Job Summary:

Manages energy efficiency projects impacting nonprofits across the state of Colorado in order meet program goals and manage associated budgets in support of EOC’s mission. We look to this position as a key contributor to the success of EOC’s energy efficiency programs. The position works in partnership with other programs managers at EOC.

Skills:

  • Experience in identifying energy efficiency measures related to a facility’s gas and electric use
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience in preparing and delivering public presentations
  • Ability to design work plans, and to prioritize and meet goals under strict deadlines and changing priorities
  • Ability to condense and explain technical information in concise and pointed summaries that can be understood by diverse constituents
  • Ability to create and manage program budgets
  • High attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks under strict deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must have excellent Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe skills
  • Must be discrete and conscious of client privacy

Essential Functions:

  • Understand program deliverables and ensure program is in compliance with funder requirements
  • Execute program tracking and reporting including internal, municipal, state, federal and as directed by supervisor or detailed in funder contracts
  • Oversee and look for improvement of participant application process
  • Manage ongoing project implementation while prioritizing and strategizing around multiple funder goals
  • Manage program financials including internal and external budgets, funder invoicing and project invoices
  • Lead building assessments to identify potential energy efficiency upgrades and manage contractor bid process
  • Maintain accurate schedule of contractors site visits and coordinate all site visits with the nonprofit
  • Support relationships between contractors and nonprofits to ensure project compliance and safety
  • Oversee project contracts and funding negotiations
  • Perform inspections of approved equipment to ensure quality installation
  • Manage general communications with program recipient organizations
  • Seek process improvement throughout project stages and overall program
  • Manage and develop successful funder and external relationships
  • Perform program outreach to recruit participants, vendors or other program partners to maximize program reach and service to nonprofits
  • Coordinate with other EOC efficiency programs to ensure alignment with utility objectives
  • Create a positive working relationship with program contractors and recruit new contractors as needed
  • Manage beneficial electrification projects
  • Manage and support the NEEP team (1-3 staff), providing guidance, mentorship, and continuous development opportunities to foster their professional growth

  • Experience working with building contractors and managing vendor relationships
  • Demonstrated program and/or project management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • A BS in nonprofit management, construction management, or a closely related field or extensive knowledge and experience in existing building energy efficiency or mechanical building systems
  • Experience in identifying energy efficiency measures related to a facility’s gas and electric use
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience in preparing and delivering public presentations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing utility DSM programs and utility client relationships
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations, income qualified participants, or disproportionately impacted communities
  • Experience leading and managing 1-3 team members
  • Experience managing and implementing federal funding
  • Understand the operation of equipment in nonprofit commercial spaces and be able to effectively identify and communicate energy efficiency upgrade opportunities to building representatives
  • Understand nonprofit struggles and limitations and utilize this knowledge in program improvement and in communicating with program funders
  • Familiarity with building electrification initiatives at local, state, and federal levels as well as electrification process and equipment upgrades
  • Experience in program management and reporting, invoicing and payment procedures, policy development, and general office management

  • Valid Driver's License required or the ability to be present to meet at various locations, and times as required
  • Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, talking, hearing

Work Environment:

Hybrid – office location in downtown Denver and employees’ home or remote Colorado location

Salary: 67,000 - 73,000. annual equivalent
