Job Overview
Evergreen Construction is a dynamic, solution-driven and diverse NYC-based construction firm with an innovative approach to providing construction services. Evergreen is currently seeking a Controller to join our Accounting team.Job Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of AIA progress billings based upon specific contract terms and pencil payment requisition percentages given by the respective project manager.
- Review accounts receivable, aging reports and assist with direct reports for collection.
- Supervise the payment process to vendors and subcontractors and confirm lien waivers and Certificates of Insurance are properly collected.
- Reconciliation of all credit card and bank accounts.
- Monitor daily cash balances to ensure requirements are met.
- Preparation of the weekly payroll.
- Preparation and maintenance of WIP schedule, prior to weekly meeting with owner to discuss the status of all projects.
- Ensure Quarterly Payroll is properly booked and reconciled based on NYS-45 and Form 941 Quarterly reporting.
- Manage the internal financial reporting process to facilitate a straightforward quarterly-end and year-end preparation by external CPA Firm.
- Responsible for the review and administration of the business, health insurance, and 401k programs.
- Maintenance of insurance (General Liability, Worker's Compensation) and risk protection programs.
- Participate in the on-going strategic planning with the Evergreen leadership team. Perform due diligence and create projections with different scenarios on growth opportunities as needed.
Requirements include:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in general small business bookkeeping in the Construction industry.
- Ability to meet deadlines, with strong organizational and priority setting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Quickbooks Online required.
- Proficiency in Procore required.
