REMOTE Business Analyst - 1 year contract - EASTERN TIME ZONE required

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our dynamic team on a remote contract basis. The successful candidate must reside within the Eastern Time Zone and be prepared to utilize their personal computer to access a virtual NCDOT workstation via Citrix and Cisco AnyConnect VPN. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a significant project focused on the Right of Way Workflow Tracking System, contributing from the Business Concept phase through to Implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing business analysis efforts or projects with clear deliverables leading to effective solutions
• Identifying and documenting essential business processes, challenges, value drivers, metrics, and capabilities
• Collecting, organizing, and analyzing relevant data
• Completing thorough analyses and documentation of existing capabilities
• Conducting interviews to elicit business requirements
• Executing industry, competitive, and state analyses, plus developing business cases and conducting market research for benchmarking
• Assisting with system go-live activities, including data conversion, support desk coordination, site support, training delivery, and logistics management
• Supporting change management initiatives and communication programs
• Performing project management office (PMO) tasks related to project tracking, work plan updates, status reports, and service metrics reporting
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in business analysis, with a proven ability to gather and manage requirements
• Exceptional data analysis and documentation capabilities
• Familiarity with project management methodologies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in conducting market and competitive analyses

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in business analysis
• In-depth understanding of project management principles
• Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative remote environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
• Relevant certifications in Business Analysis or Project Management are advantageous
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis or closely related roles, with a strong track record of managing complex projects and analyses
