The position of Executive Director of Secondary Schools in the Ferguson-Florissant School District oversees all aspects of the Districts’ three high schools, three middle schools, the Innovation School, and the Restoration and Wellness Center. The secondary programs have an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students, over 400 teachers, and 20 administrators, and represent 2/3 of MSIP 6 accountability scoring.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education –-
- Eligible for Missouri Secondary Administrative or Superintendent Certification
- Experience as a head building principal. Have a minimum of 3 years of building level or executive level administration experience supporting secondary (middle and/or high) schools
- Masters in education required, specialist or doctorate in education or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a multicultural setting with significant diversity
Knowledge/Skills/Disposition –-

- Interpersonal relationships with a variety of district stakeholders
- Desire and ability to function as a member of a team
- Curriculum development, implementation, instruction, and academic leadership (scholarly publications, pedagogical presentation, developing and leading professional development etc.)
- Collaborative leadership style, strong human relations and communication skills
- Improving student achievement
- Knowledge and experience with
- Data-driven decision making, data analysis, staff evaluation, and professional development
- MSIP process or similar state accountability models, NCLB and current state assessments
- Instructional and management technology (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, SmartBoards, student management programs, MUNIS, etc.)
- Fostering high expectations for success for all students
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:
- Supervise all secondary level principals.
- Lead the secondary principals and assistant principals meetings.
- Create and maintain a system of internal and external quality control and accountability for student academic achievement, behavior, and character and service learning.
- Report to the Superintendent and Board of Education all of the programs, initiatives, and services at the secondary level.
- Attend all Board Meetings
- Report on any new courses
- Present an update to the Board on student programs and staff development opportunities and participation.
- Partner with local agencies to enhance the services and opportunities for students and staff such as UM-St. Louis with the Leadership and Education Courses and Student Programs
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
