This position requires coordination and follow-through, so we need someone who is motivated and detail-oriented. The ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple projects at once while maintaining deadlines and efficient communication with key members of the team.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for working directly with the Superintendents and Project Managers to coordinate all activities in the field. The Project Coordinator reviews all necessary qualified resources to support a given project. This position is typically expected to work 8-hour days, Monday through Friday each week - additional hours may be required as needed.
The Project Coordinator is expected to provide support to project management and complete project deliverables effectively and on time. This position requires strong time management and analytical ability, excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to perform project oversight and make value-added conclusions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists in developing, updating, and maintaining accurate project documentation including plans, schedules, reports and budgets in collaboration with project managers.
- Coordinates resources, materials, and equipment for project activities, ensuring efficient utilization.
- Identifies and assesses project risks and works with the team to develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitors and maintains quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identifies documentation deficiencies and reports to appropriate project leaders.
- Assists in tracking project expenses, maintains financial records, verifies project final quantities and prepares the final closeout package for billing, submitting to appropriate personnel and the customer in a timely fashion as required.
- Generates regular project status reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Acts as a liaison between project managers, team members, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
- Collaborates with the team to address and resolve project-related issues in a timely manner.
- Ensures project success by adhering to industry regulations, safety standards, procedures, initiatives, and company policies.
- Schedules and organizes project meetings, prepares agendas, and documents meeting minutes.
OTHER DUTIES
- Backup to other project personnel either within the same project or assisting with other projects as directed.
- Performs various program tasks as assigned by project leadership.
- Participates in any required continuous improvement activities and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience for 2-3 years as a Project Coordinator or similar role in the construction or infrastructure industry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Strong use of spelling, composition, and grammar
- Critical thinking, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of construction processes, regulations and safety protocols.
- Detail oriented and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
