Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the team, providing leadership, training, and support.
- Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic testing, including visual acuity, refractometry, tonometry, and OCT imaging.
- Assist the ophthalmologist in clinical and surgical procedures as needed.
- Oversee scheduling, workflow, and quality assurance within the team.
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and industry standards.
- Mentor and train new technicians, ensuring consistent professional development.
- Manage and maintain ophthalmic equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize patient care and clinic efficiency.
- Comply with HIPPA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information
Qualifications:
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
- Minimum of one years of experience in ophthalmology practice.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and manage a team.
- Proficient in a wide range of ophthalmic diagnostic procedures and technologies.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to excellent patient care and a team-oriented work environment.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in similar role preferred
- COA or COT or willingness and ability to obtain within 6 months
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds.
- Travel to other offices as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
