We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Ophthalmology Technician to join and guide our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have advanced ophthalmic technical skills, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the team, providing leadership, training, and support.
  • Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic testing, including visual acuity, refractometry, tonometry, and OCT imaging.
  • Assist the ophthalmologist in clinical and surgical procedures as needed.
  • Oversee scheduling, workflow, and quality assurance within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and industry standards.
  • Mentor and train new technicians, ensuring consistent professional development.
  • Manage and maintain ophthalmic equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize patient care and clinic efficiency.
  • Comply with HIPPA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information

Qualifications:

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
  • Minimum of one years of experience in ophthalmology practice.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and manage a team.
  • Proficient in a wide range of ophthalmic diagnostic procedures and technologies.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to excellent patient care and a team-oriented work environment.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in similar role preferred
  • COA or COT or willingness and ability to obtain within 6 months

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds.
  • Travel to other offices as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
