Plant Sales Representative

Flower Tent is looking for part time, seasonal sales representatives to join our team for the Spring 2025 season. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the outdoors, plants, gardening, and making people smile.

About Us:

Flower Tent is a locally owned, pop-up, independent garden center that sells annuals, perennials, veggie plants, herbs, and houseplants. Each Flower Tent location consists of a large, 30' x 60' tent and exterior plant displays. Flower Tents are installed in parking lots in populated areas and operate cashlessly.

We pride ourselves on offering high-quality plants at an affordable price. The majority of our plants are grown by family-owned, Georgia greenhouses. None of our growers sell to big box stores. When customers buy from us, they’re supporting local all the way through!

Our other draw is our exceptional customer service. Flower Tent is known for friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff. If you enjoy making people happy by helping them bring a touch of nature to their homes, this is the job for you!

The Position:

This is a seasonal position and would not begin until the mid March 2025. It will conclude in early June 2025. Flower Tent operates during this time frame annually, and successful employees will be welcome to return the following season. We are currently looking for part-time workers with availability 3-4 days a week.

This position is hourly and pay is $13/hr. Bonus based on sales performance possible.

We are currently hiring for our Cumming, GA location.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining a visually appealing and organized plant display to enhance customer experience
• Provide plant care through watering, deadheading, and routine maintenance to maintain highest quality standards
• Completing sales transactions using POS system
• Engage with customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner to understand their plant needs and preferences
• Carrying purchases to customers’ cars
• Assisting in receiving deliveries during operating hours
• Communicating low inventory with office to ensure tents are well stocked
• Opening and/or closing duties

Requirements:

• Weekend availability
• Holiday work (Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day)
• Consistent availability. Flower Tent’s window of operation is short, and we need reliable employees with little to no conflicts in their regular schedule
• Excitement for plants and the positive impact they have on indoor and outdoor spaces
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable transportation
• Technological proficiency with iPads
• Ability to lift 30lbs
• Ability to work in an outdoor, partially covered environment and hande the physical tasks related to plant care
• Ability to work independently/ alone
• Comfortability with dogs. We are a dog-friendly establishment (as long as they are leashed or held)
• Knowledge of plants and basic gardening principles is a plus, but not required

Two days of paid training will be required.

Resources to learn plant identification and care will be provided, and it is expected that employees will make an effort to educate themselves on Flower Tent’s inventory.
